// Questions
The questions building owners actually ask us — answered the way we'd answer them across a table. No waffle.
Yes — that's the normal way we work. Edge protection and running lines go up first, deliveries are sequenced, and the work runs bay by bay so your operation carries on underneath. Where we're working over sensitive areas we agree protection, netting and timings with you before anyone's on the roof. Days of client downtime on a typical project: zero.
Usually not. Over-cladding an asbestos-cement roof — fixing a new insulated metal roof over the top on a spacer system — is often the safest and most cost-effective route, because the old roof stays sealed in place and undisturbed rather than being broken up and disposed of. It's work with strict controls, and the survey decides whether your roof is suitable. Where removal genuinely is the right answer, we'll tell you that instead. See how the routes compare →
The survey is free and without obligation. Experienced roofers walk every metre — finding what a camera can't — and you receive a full condition report: a photographed defect schedule and every sensible repair route priced. The report is yours to keep whether you use us or not. Click through a sample report →
Fixed means fixed. We price against what the survey found, and that's the number — no provisional sums, no "TBC on inspection". If we missed something in the survey, that's on us, not on your invoice. The price only changes if you change the scope. How we price →
Projects under £100k: 60% on instruction, 40% on completion and sign-off. Over £100k: a 40–60% deposit, the balance in staged payments as work progresses, final payment on completion. Maintenance plans: lump sums quarterly or bi-annually as visits happen, or a discounted monthly retainer. Terms are agreed up front in the proposal — no surprises there either.
Yes. Call 01604 345323 and we'll get you made safe and watertight fast. Then — honestly — a patch is a patch: once the emergency's contained we'll survey properly so the next fix is the engineered one, not another patch on a patch. Why quick fixes fail →
We're based in Northampton and work across England and Wales — most of our projects sit within three to four hours' drive of home, which keeps crews fresh and programmes reliable. We don't currently cover Scotland or Ireland. If you're at the edge of the map, ask — for the right project we'll come to you.
Both, and that matters. Workmanship is on us; the system itself carries a manufacturer-backed warranty, lodged on completion — cover that survives no matter what happens to any contractor. One thing to know: most manufacturer warranties require documented maintenance to stay valid, which is exactly what our maintenance plans handle. Maintenance plans →
Typical projects run from days (coatings, repairs) to a few weeks (over-cladding or replacement), and the programme is fixed in your proposal before we start. The biggest schemes — 10,000 m² and up — can be phased across budget years. While we're on site, the work is drone-filmed before, during and after, so you can see progress without leaving your desk.
Commercial and industrial roofs of every stripe: metal profile and built-up roofs, asbestos-cement over-cladding, liquid coating systems, cut-to-falls, gutterlines and drainage, rooflights, Mansafe systems and solar-ready installations — plus the surveys and planned maintenance that keep them watertight.
